To Be a Witch

In Margot Adler’s book, Drawing Down the Moon, Craft priest Ed Fitch is quoted as saying, “To be a Witch is to draw on our archetypal roots and to draw strength from them. It means to put yourself into close consonance with some ways that are older than the human race itself.”

To be a witch is to plumb the mysteries of nature, and of the universe. To be a witch is to align oneself with the cycles of the moon and the seasons of the year. To be a witch is to answer to the old gods, more than to any societal pressures or standards of conformity.

We all have different stories to tell about how we came to be witches. Check back here soon for more stories about what it means  …  to be a witch.
