Lughnasadh (Lughnasa, Lughnasad, Lammas) ‍ ‍‍ ‍Date: August 1

Lughnasadh is the first harvest. The grain is reaped. In the agrarian cycle, it is the death and mourning of the god of grain. It is the Feast of Lugh, Celtic god of light.

How to observe Lughnasadh

• Decorate your altar with fruits of the harvest, especially corn, sheaves of grain, and loaves of bread. 

• Make corn dollies out of corn husks.

• Cast off that which you want to be rid of. Give it to the god of the grain by throwing it in the fire.

• Do fire scrying, either with a candle flame or at an outdoor fire.
